Costume Crafts
This class really pushed me in my creativity skills. I learned and improved skills in felting, dyeing, EVA foam, Worbla, and millnery.
Taught by Professor Harri Horsley
Project One - About Me
Our first assignment was to make an outfit that described who we are.
I grew up raising sheep. As a little kid, I also ran my own business where I made and sold felted cat toys. I decided to go back to my roots with this project.
I still had all the wool from the farm, so I used that. Some was already dyed, and some I had to dye new colors. I then needle felted it into a design that is meaningful to me.
Below is a progress TikTok I made.
Project Two - Armor
Our third project was an armor project. I wanted to make something super hero inspired, but still relatively wearable, in case I wanted to wear it to a Renaissance Fair or a themed party. So I designed a corset, gauntlets, and a choker.
For this project, I used EVA foam, warbla, plasti-dip, and spray paint.

Project Three - Millinery
Our third project was a millinery project. My favorite fashion era is the Gibson Girls, so I decided to make a Gibson Girl inspired hat. This was my first time trying to make a hat, so I learned a lot!
